中國古代香包與荷包的起源，原本各有不同的意義，然而從外型的設計與製作有其異曲同工之妙，通常在香囊內裝盛香料達到香氛，與趨吉避凶功能的稱為香包；若是空囊用來做為贈禮或裝飾成盛裝珠寶，隨身雜物者，就稱為荷包，但由於其氣未保存不易，且使用香草植物易產生發霉或長小蟲子的狀況，故研發香精油來取代，並將香精油以化妝品科技的包覆法，將香精油包埋於微膠囊小顆粒中，再浸染於棉質布料上，達到使香味較長效的保存，並可應用於服飾設計上，設計出一系列具有有中國禪味的吉祥包，除可裝飾之外更有存放隨身碟、手機、眼鏡、光碟、鑰匙等功能，並可於舉手頭足間散發出淡淡幽香。

This research focuses on the combination of micro capsule and Chinese-style fragrant pouches. In the past, people put much ground herb in the bag, so-called fragrant pouch, in order to protect against evil spirit and ensure prosperity. If a bag is filled in some small gifts or jewels, we call this ”pocket”. There are some shortages of traditional fragrant pouches, such like hard to keep the scent, easy to arouse moldiness and insect. The new research is dyeing cotton cloth by essential oil packed in micro capsule, which is a kind of method coming from cosmetics technology. By doing so, aroma can be long lasting. In the near future, the new fragrant pouches will be used on flash disks, cell phones, glasses, optical discs, keys, etc, which will sparkle light scent with one's every movement.
