本研究之目的於探討人體皮膚表面之跟骨與膝蓋骨之外形的美學研究。研究對象以十五歲以上已發育成熟者為主，針對各年齡層對象採用比例分層隨機抽樣(proportional stratified random sampling)的方法，採結構式問卷調查進行研究，共計回收400份有效問卷。 研究結果顯示： (1)基本健康方面，視力異常者高達92.5%（370名），蛀牙也高達90.0%（360名），隨著研究對象年齡層越高，視力異常及蛀牙症狀的比例也越高。 (2)跟骨與膝蓋骨突出者各佔28.5%及29.8%。跟骨突出者與膝蓋骨突出者，粗骨架者與太瘦者及大臂圍者，跟骨突出者與太瘦者及大臂圍者，均有相當顯著的正相關。 (3)跟骨之外觀原則上可分成三種等級型態（短型、長型、圓型），與膝蓋骨已研究分析完成之六種型態（平坦型、小橢圓型、長條型、小圓型、八字型、橢圓型），形成有趣的對比。
英文摘要

The purpose of this research is that aesthetic study on physical appearance of foot-bone and hand-bone by comparison. Classification of outward form of foot-bone and hand-bone is necessary from aesthetic science. The results of the study is following: (1) Outward projection of calcaneus has remarkable positive correlation with big-boned、too thin、big-waist (P＜0.01). (2) Outward projection of patella has remarkable positive correlation with Calcaneus projection type and big-boned. too thin﹑big-waist (P＜0.01) (3) Big wasit has remarkable positve correlation with big-boned (P＜0.01) and too thin has remarkable positive correlation with big-boned (P＜0.01). (4) Appearance of calcaneus can be classified into three type: ①short type ② long type ③ circle type.
