The exploration of the evaluation of sustainable development of higher education should be consistent with such principles as need, adaptability, sustainability and equity. According to the principle of sustainable development of the ”United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development,” when we conduct evaluation research of sustainable development of higher education, we should consider ”one center” and ”4 basic features” as our masterstrokes. The center of sustainable development is the core value of humancenteredness. This should be accompanied by four evaluation mechanisms: (1) the evaluation mechanism of stakeholders of HEIs' needs based on the need principle, (2) the evaluation mechanism of the collection platform of status data based on the adaptability principle, (3) the mechanism of school-based evaluation that combines the internal and external evaluation based on the sustainability principle, and (4) the mechanism of the third party's evaluation based on the equity principle.
