Recently the bacterial wilt of Jiaosi Tomato caused by Ralstonia solanacearum occurred. Because the R. solnacearum infection is the main cause of dead Jiaosi Tomato, this research will study the utilization of shrimp shell wastes by microorganism to produce antimicrobial agent and the effect of such an agent on the Jiaosi Tomato culture.
The experiment will perform in two parts. First step: Studies on the antimicrobial agents produce by P. aeruginosa K-187, and identification of the strain. Second step:Field experiment. Maximum inhibitory activity was obtained when P. aeruginosa K-187 was grown aerobically in a medium consisting 2% shrimp and crab shell powder, 0.1% K2HPO4 and 0.05% MgSO4•7H2O at a pH of 7.0.
