本文採歷史研究法，從四個面向探究日治時期臺灣八景與登山活動的關連性。研究結果如下：清代傳統的八景並無山景的出現，直至日治時期，方由「臺灣日日新報」主其事，於1927 年舉行新「臺灣八景」的票選活動，規模極大，各地方的政府官員與民眾共同參與此項活動，臺灣八景從原來的官定方式，改為民眾票選。臺灣八景當中，山岳風景佔了半數，藉由各種宣傳方式，如指引手冊的出刊、國家公園的成立，均有助於臺灣八景的宣傳，而引發休閒登山的熱潮。

By adopting the historical method of research,, probing into the connection between mountaineering and ”Taiwan-eight-views”. Here is the conclusion: mountain scenery was not included into the traditional ”Taiwan-eight-views” in Chin. Not until the period of Japanese rule, 「New Taiwan Daily News」held an activity in 1972, a vote for new ”Taiwan-eight-views”. It was a huge-scale activity then. All the local officials and the public were involved in this activity. ”Taiwan-eight-view” was going to be voted by the officials, but then it was changed to the officials and the public voting together. Most of ”Taiwan-eight-views” are mountain sceneries. Numerous promotion ways, for example, the tour sheets, the establishments of National Parks, have helped with ”Taiwan-eight-views” propaganda. Consequently, ”Taiwan-eight-views” gave rise to the trends of mountaineering.
