感染病常發生於免疫力下降、營養不良時,病原包括病毒、寄生蟲、原生動物、細菌、腐敗作用等。麩醯胺酸與精胺酸補充品,對燒燙傷、癌症、人類免疫缺乏病毒感染、手術及重大創傷患者的免疫效果,能增加淋巴細胞數量,減少感染併發症,提高復原速率,免疫細胞代謝麩醯胺酸、精胺酸,產生大量自由基毒殺胞外、胞質液之微生物。長時間運動及過度訓練,血液中麩醯胺酸濃度減少,產生免疫抑制效果,補充麩醯胺酸,可提升肌肉麩醯胺酸濃度,維持免疫能力。燒燙傷、人類免疫缺乏病毒感染患者補充麩醯胺酸的免疫效果,研究數量有限仍需進一步探討,精胺酸補充品為複合配方需針對精胺酸作用研究確認,不同運動項目的蛋白質需求量不同,胺基酸補充品劑量亦需要進一步探討。
