本文根據Eccles的期望價值理論，探討青少年階段參與休閒活動與運動的動機，同時關切同儕關係的影響，進一步了解青少年參與活動的過程中，同儕角色對動機影響的重要性。期望價值理論（expectancy-value theory）是Eccles等人根據Atkinson原有的期望價值理論所發展而來的，整合了過去對於動機的概念，提供了更周延的觀點探討個體的動機。期望能提供未來體育教師在教學上不同的觀點與建議，讓學生都能愛上體育。
