1887年（明治20）9月14日，為對抗大阪商船會社的瀨戶內海航路，也為阿波的顧客提供便利，連接阿波德島與摂津阪神的有限責任阿波國共同汽船會社於四國德島正式設立。其早期的航運主要是以大阪港、神戸港、和歌山港、以及四國的德島港等的航運為主要港口。其後，因1904年（明治37）2月日俄戰争的爆發，阿波國共同汽船株式會社提供三隻船隻被作為軍需物資輸送船征用，直到1906年（明治39）4月方被解除征用。1906年（明治39）2月，阿波國共同汽船株式會社新造總噸數624噸66的第十共同號，以4隻船開始以大連為根據地的航運事業。以此為契機，阿波國共同汽船會社開始了以大連為基盤的，連接中國山東半島沿海與遼東半島南部沿海的定期航運。並在其後擴展了以大連為中心的往渤海・黄海等等的航路，直到1939年（昭和14）因東亞海運會社的成立而被吸收。本文是對阿波國共同汽船會社在1906年至1939年間，中國遼東半島沿海及山東半島沿海航運事業的展開敘述。

The Awa Kyoudou Steamship Company began in Meiji 20 years (September 14, 1887) as a rival against the Osaka Merchant Company. Awa Kyoudou's Inland Sea route sailed, under limited liability, to connect Tokushima and Hanshin Awa Province to link shipping companies in Shikoku. Its early shipping serviced Osaka Port, Kobe Harbor, Wakayama Port and Tokushima in Shikoku. In the 37 year of Meiji (February 1904) at the outbreak of Russo-Japanese War, Kisen Kaisha Company provided three ships that were requisitioned for the transport of military supplies. They were returned in the 39th year of Meiji 39 (April 1906). By February 1906, Kisen Kaisha's shipping office was using four ships, with each having a displacement of 66 624 tons. One of them, the ＂No.10＂ fed inland shipping via Dalian. As an opportunity to join this endeavor, Awa Province Dalian Shipping began scheduled shipping linking southern Shantung Province with the Liao-Dong peninsula. This shipping was subsequently extended to Dalian at the crossroads of navigation next to the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea. This service continued until the Showa 14 (1939) when it was absorbed into the newly established East Asian Maritime Company. This study discusses common steamship companies in Awa Province from 1906 to 1939 and their commercial expansion into China's Liaodong and Shandong peninsulas
