The study is to discuss the difference of the successful and failed attack strategies such as maul, lineout, scrum and ruck with a success in advancing across the gain line, and their correlation with points scored by Chinese Taipei, as atraining reference for domestic coaches and athletes. Itcoversthree international matches in total in the U-19 Asian Rugby Championship (the First Class) attendedby Chinese Taipei, the object of study. The significance level of each statistical test in the study is set at α=.05 with the following discoveries: 1. For Chinese Taipei’s attack strategy, the average success of maul is 3.00 with a standard deviation of 1.73. The average failure of maul is 0.33 with a standard deviation of 0.58. This indicates the tactics adopted by Chinese Taipei in the course of the match inclines to using maul. 2. For Chinese Taipei’s attack strategy, the average success of lineout is 7.00 with a standard deviation of 3.61. The average failure of lineout is 1.33 with a standard deviation of 1.53. This expresses that, in the course of the match, Chinese Taipei shows superior performance on lineout. 3. For Chinese Taipei’s attack strategy,the average success of scrum is8.33with a standard deviation of 2.52. The average failure of scrum is1.00with a standard deviation of 0.00. This demonstrates that Chinese Taipei has no significance in scrum in the course of the match. 4. For Chinese Taipei’s attack strategy,the average success of ruck is 37.33 with a standard deviation of 15.70. The average failure of ruck is 15.33 with a standard deviation of 18.01. This presents that, in the course of the match, Chinese Taipei does not perform well on ruck. 5. For Chinese Taipei’s attack strategy,the average success of advancing across the gain line is 32.67 with a standard deviation of 13.01. This reveals that, in the course of the match, Chinese Taipei does not perform well on advancing across the gain line. 6. According to the above results and the attach strategies adopted by Chinese Taipei, a failure in maul correlates significantly with points scored (P<.05). A failure in ruck shows significant correlation with points scored (P<.05). This indicates that a chance of scoring will increase if Chinese Taipei reduces failure in maul and ruck in the course of the match.
