自工業革命之後，光化學照相術的掘起開創了全新地視覺體驗，而後來的電報、活動電影放映機、電話以及電視機等接連產生概念技術以及申請專利，使得訊息速度的擴展可謂達到了前所未見的境界；在科技的催化之下，相機與相關影像傳播工具發展在經過了二十世紀之後便已可看出其所帶來的數位生活浪潮正潛移默化地改變市場與大眾使用習慣，無形與有形地影像交融在我們的生活之中，數位化的環境之下也將人類知識與思想傳播帶來一種全新時代。本研究將透過「影像形式與敘事」、「數位化帶來的改變」以及「網路環境發展」三面向，試圖探討影像形式的訊息在當今科技環境，圖像應用上可能產生的現象與趨勢。
