噴墨已然成為平面藝術作品或複製畫輸出的首選媒材,尤其是各類純棉藝術紙(fine art cotton paper)配合水性顏料墨水(water-based pigment ink),可展現優異的細節和色彩範圍。美術館也因其能達到長久不褪色的效果,普遍接受噴墨輸出的作品典藏。同時市面上有許多保護噴罐產品宣稱可再增加影像的抗光能力,減緩褪色達到延長保存及展示年限的效果。本研究實際測試30款保護劑,部分產品的確能有效減少噴墨輸出影像因光照產生的褪色。但同時也發現,使用保護劑可能會造成影像濃度降低以及可用色域縮減的問題。

英文摘要

Inkjet printing has become the preferred medium for graphic/photographic art works and art reproductions. Archival cotton papers and water-based pigment ink can produce excellent details and achieve wide color gamut. Art museums also accept inkjet medium for their collections because of the long-lasting character. At the same time, there are many protective spray cans on the market that claim to increase color-fastness of inkjet images, and prolong the storage and display life. In this study, 30 fixatives were tested. Some products can effectively reduce the fading of inkjet images caused by light. However, it was also found that the use of fixatives may cause problems with reduced image density and color gamut.
