Lü Liuliang (呂留良, 1629-1683) was a very important Confucian during the Ming-Qing transition. In academic thought, he agreed with the School of Principle (理學), and strongly opposed to the Buddhism, Taoism, and the School of Mind (心學). Lü's reputation has been known to the world, especially Zeng Jing case (曾靜案), which makes Emperor Yongzheng believe that Lü has intention of anti-Qing sentiment (反清), even though he has been dead for more than fifty years ever since that time. And, therefore, Lü becomes an ideal for those who anti-Qing rebels.According to my former research, Lü has no intention of anti-Qing sentiment at all. Furthermore, Lü's academic achievement should not be underestimated because of the accusation of anti-Qing sentiment. In this article, I will analyze Lü's literary work-Commentaries on the Four Books, and try to discuss the idea of ”Tianxia” (天下) in his mind.
