英文摘要

The purpose of this paper is to enhance the understanding and predictability of super-typhoon to reduce the impact on humans and property when typhoons transit. Combined with remote sensing image and image processing techniques, a framework was developed that could be used to analyze the seven super-typhoons that occurred over the Northwest Pacific Ocean in 2014. Usually, the typhoon in the northern hemisphere occurs during the summer. Surprisingly, due to the intensified climate changes in recent decades, the chances of winter typhoons have increased and many super-typhoons have been happened in 2014. The 3-D profile model of the typhoon obtained from the satellite cloud image can be used to study the depth distribution of the cloud top. The results show that the cold fronts and southwest airflows can enhance the typhoon intensity in summer and winter, and even make it a super-typhoon. In addition, the intensity of the super-typhoon in winter is higher than the super-typhoon in summer.
