本研究目的在了解園藝治療對高齡人口心理適能的效果及應用;許多高齡人口可能因社交網絡的縮小和孤立感的增加,產生了社會互動的減少而導致心理健康狀態的下降。園藝活動可以提供一個放鬆和減壓的環境,這有助於減輕高齡人口的焦慮和壓力感,在對高齡者生理、心理健康、認知能力與正面的情緒上。園藝治療也可以促進整體健康和生活質量、體力、健康和靈活性、認知能力和社交能力,參與者照顧植物並進行相關活動,能提高他們的身體、心理和社交福祉,對於高齡者認知功能、心理狀態及情緒有正面助益,其還可能對失智症亦有成效,並且有生理證據支持,如將園藝治療實踐在高齡者之身心健康上應會有實質意義上的幫助。

英文摘要

The purpose of this study is to understand the effect and application of horticultural therapy on the psychological fitness of the elderly population; many elderly population may have reduced social interaction due to the shrinking social network and increased isolation, resulting in a decline in mental health. Gardening activities can provide a relaxing and stress-reducing environment, which helps to reduce the anxiety and stress of the elderly population, and is beneficial to the physical, mental health, cognitive ability and positive emotions of the elderly. Horticultural therapy can also promote overall health and quality of life, physical strength, fitness and flexibility, cognitive and social skills, participants caring for plants and related activities can improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing, cognitive function, Mental state and emotion have positive benefits, and there are physiological evidences to support it. It may also be beneficial to dementia. For example, the practice of horticultural therapy in advanced age should have substantial effects on their physical and mental health.
