英文摘要 |
I would like to revisit basic breathing fundamentals in my presentation to encourage a ”demystification” of the integral relationship between breath, body awareness, the release of tension, the support of resonant vibration and how this allows the self to inform the character through honest and truthful connection. The true acting impulse is in the moment of the breath. It is inspirational to re-consider the basics because, no matter the experience level from which we teach or perform, the opportunity for review is both grounding and energizing. I propose, therefore, a workshop session with discussion that will re-introduce and remind students and teachers of the value of breath awareness which leads to the release of physical tension and therefore more connection to the body which results in a state of readiness from which the action can be played with clarity, ease, and focus. A connection to the breath and the body enables a true connection to the emotional life of the character as well. This session will re-introduce floor exercises on breath awareness, then proceed to breath exercises that support vibration through a released upright physical instrument, and progress to the spoken word and the need to speak which is integral to the character's action: filling the space with the vocal and physical movement that is dependant on the elements of space, time, and direction. And so a character is born! |
