本研究採方便取樣,對象為某大學醫學院護理學系大一新生,資料來自學生期末所回答的問題:「列出自己認為一位好護士所應具備的特質」,及「影響自己對護士看法的因素」。研究目的為瞭解大學護理學系新生對好護士特質之描述及瞭解影響學生對護士看法的因素。本研究共分析46位學生之資料,結果發現「好護士」的特質可歸納為個人特質及專業特質兩大類,個人特質排序前三項為:溫柔親切、耐心、及愛心;專業特質排序前三項為:具臨床護理技能、關懷、及具護理專業知識。影響他們對護士看法的因素,包括經驗感受、媒體的報導、傳統社會文化的印象、及接受護理教育。這些資料可作為護理課程設計的參考,護理教育者應積極探討學生對護理專業角色之看法,才能進一步將其整合至教學活動中,讓學生於養成教育過程能朝一位好護士特質之方向發展。 |
英文摘要 |
The purpose of this study is to interpret new nursing students' definition of ”a good nurse” as well as investigate those specific factors which would appear to influence nursing students' image of nurses. This study was based upon the questionnaire responses from 46 first-year nursing students from the BSN program delivered at a national university in northern Taiwan. Students responded to two open-ended questions: (1)what do you believe are the characteristics of a good nurse? And (2) what factors influence your image of nurses? Content analysis was the form of data analysis employed for this study. The three leading personal qualities of a good nurse, as reported, were (1) tenderness and kindness, (2) patience, and (3) kindheartedness. The three leading professional characteristics of a good nurse, as reported, were (1) high competence as regards nursing skills, (2) a caring approach toward patients, and (3) possession of qualified professional knowledge pertaining to nursing in general. Factors influencing nursing students' image of nurses are (1) interaction experience with nurses, (2) reports from the media, (3) stereotyped images of nurses, and (4) the level of nursing education received in school. The findings elicited by this study should be useful for the development, and continuous improvement of, nursing education curricula and teaching methods and thus, to promote nursing students' professional images. |
