本研究針對三種類型大學的師生進行調查,目的在界定好的大學教師特質,以及瞭解師生對有效大學教學特質的看法,並比較其中可能之差異,同時也調查大學教師專業成長的現況與需求。結果發現,大學教師的特質可分為教師專業與課程教材、教師態度與教學、輔導、研究、與服務五個層面。所有師生對於好的大學教師特質的看法相當一致,都認為與教學相關的特質最為重要。對於各項特質內之項目重要性排序,師生看法也大致相同。有關大學教師專業成長之需求,近七成五教師,在十三個項目上都表示有進修之必要。進修的項目因著大學的類型而有所不同,技職校院教師在「研究計畫的申請」與「研究資料的收集」,顯著的比其他類型學校教師有更高的需求。 |
英文摘要 |
The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of effective college teaching through a survey of faculty members and students in three different types of university and college in Taiwan; and to investigate the differences between college teachers and students in their perception of the characteristics of good college teaching, and also to study the current situation and the needs of college teachers' professional development. The results of this study indicated that the characteristics of good college teaching include five phases: the instructor's professionalism and curriculum & instructional materials, the instructor's attitude & instruction, guidance, research, and service. Students and teachers set the same priority on the importance of the character items of effective college teaching. The analysis of teachers' needs on professional development revealed the need for all the 13 items surveyed. However, the needs differed slightly in terms of different types of university. The information collected in this study can be used for improving the effectiveness of college teaching. |
