教師組織公民行為乃教師在非基本工作要求條件下，所表現的主動、積極、正面、盡職、利他行為。此類行為非但有益於特殊他人，更有助於學校效能的提升。是故，學校若要具有效能，則教師組織公民行為乃是重要、不可或缺的行為要件之一。 本文首先介紹組織公民行為的理論發展過程、定義、內涵與構面，再者論及教師組織公民行為四個主要的理論基礎，最後分析教師組織公民行為的行為模式。歸結其要點，教師組織公民行為的理論基礎有：1、社會生物學；2、社會進化論；3、社會交換理論；4、同理心－利他假說。而教師組織公民行為的行為模式則分四階段，分別是：階段一，教師知覺到需要；階段二，教師作認知判斷；階段三，教師形成決定；階段四，教師表現組織公民行為。
