台灣半導體產業研發活動、技術效率與規模效率之研究

本文採用資料包絡分析法衡量半導體產業技術效率與規模效率，並利用Malmquist生產力指數衡量半導體產業跨年度的各項生產力指標的變動，本文亦探討研發活動對於廠商效率與獲利能力的關聯性，研究期間為2000至2009年台灣地區88家半導體廠商。研究結果顯示半導體產業經營效率仍有待改善，仍有高達23%的資源浪費，總要素生產力成長僅有0.06%的變動。研發活動對於廠商獲利與效率的助益並不明顯，因此廠商投入研發資本若不能有效運用，反而會造成獲利與效率的下降。

This study used the Data Envelopment Analysis to measure semiconductor manufacturing industry's technological efficiency, scale efficiency in Taiwan, and estimated productivity change by Malmquist index over the period 2000 to 2009. Otherwise, we discuss that relationship between R&D activities and efficiency, profitability. This results show that 23% input resource have wasted in semiconductor manufacturing industry, implying that the firms must to improve their efficiency. Results show that R&D activities not impact firms' efficiency and profitability; therefore, while firms can not be attributed to utilization of R&D capital, on the contrary, there would to decrease firms' efficiency and profitability.
