「HIV相異伴侶」在臺灣的社會中，是一群能見度極低的族群，多數人不熟悉這樣的伴侶型態，相異伴侶也不會輕易揭露這樣的關係。隨著醫療進步，HIV可視為慢性疾病後，伴侶關係也有所轉變。本研究邀請七對臺灣的HIV相異伴侶參與研究，嘗試以社會建構角度，理解伴侶們如何建構HIV在關係中的意義，以及如何經營HIV相異伴侶關係。研究發現，相異伴侶們視HIV為二人共同面對的事，一起經驗HIV的污名與感染恐懼，並將HIV融入日常生活相處裡，在對話中重新建構HIV的意涵，視HIV為二人關係的連結。此外，感染者看待HIV的視角，有助於非感染伴侶降低對HIV的感染恐懼，成為關係中的助力。研究最後邀請相異伴侶給予社群建議，期盼透過本研究讓更多相異伴侶的故事被聆聽與理解。
