Purpose: The main purpose of this study was to establish a measurement to evaluate the work values of sport coaches. The development of the scale to evaluate sport coaches work values was based on Eccles Expectancy-value theory rather than Super's work characteristics used by past studies. Method: Data were collected from 119 sport coaches. The analysis procedure included content and logical validity, the exploratory factor analysis (EFA), item discrimination analysis, and internal consistency examination. Results: The results revealed 18-item 5-factor consisting achievement and pleasure value, practical value, significant others' expectancy cost, psychological failure cost and cost of losing the chance to engage in other activities. Conclusions: The scale provided initial reliability and validity support, however, more studies are required to verify the appropriateness of the scale.
