課堂場域中婚姻移民的理解與詮釋－一個性別與多元文化教案的實踐經驗

有鑑於多元文化需落實於對生活場城之關懷與反思的理念，以及「性別」與「多元文化」相關課程在通識或專業選修課程裡紛紛開設，本教案透過婚姻移民文本閱讀、時事議題討論、影片欣賞與討論、特聘講員交流，以及個別訪談新移民生命經驗等課程設計來協助大學生了解新移民女性在跨國婚姻中的客觀與主觀性別關條、討論與評估新移民立法、政策與方案等有計劃性的行動，以及其行動於所有範疇、層次中對不同性別所產生的影響。本教案旨在運用相關的教學策略來激發大專學生關注自身及當今世界性的議題，期許將生活與世界做連結，藉以達致現代人文素養之訓練，以實踐「全球的本土化」的潮流。

The design of this course was based on a gender approach to understand the objective/subjective experiences of and policies and programs related to female marriage immigrants at all levels. Various teaching methods were used, including group discussions regarding the marriage immigration literature, presentations by marriage immigrants, NGO volunteers and multicultural social workers, and individual interviews with marriage immigrants. At the end of the course, students presented their findings of individual interviews. During the course, students were expected to develop an initial understanding of human rights and the meaning of gender. According to classroom observations and end of class evaluations, group discussions helped students to understand the obstacles and social stigma faced by female marriage immigrants. These discussions also strengthened students' gender sensitivity and cross-cultural competencies. Through case studies and individual interviews, students developed a broad picture of the life and immigration process of female marriage immigrants. In addition, they explored how values can be constructed, which can lead to human rights abuses. Based on the results, students' self awareness, gender sensitivity and ability to take social action significantly improved. Thus, development of cultural sensitivity and gender competency is urgently required in contemporary higher education.
