由於人行地下道位於地表下,給人的印象大多有黑暗、封閉、不確定及不安全感等,讓許多行人望之卻步。本研究目的即要探討人行地下道哪些空間環境特質會影響使用者之安全知覺。人行地下道空間可分為地上結構、入口階梯及地下通道等三部分,本研究係針對「地下通道」部分進行探究,並以34張照片來評估受測者對地下通道環境特質之安全知覺;此外,本研究也將探討背景音樂對使用者行走於地下通道時之安全感提升是否有幫助。本研究受測者樣本以大學生為主,「空間環境」部分的有效樣本共433份,「背景音樂」部分有效樣本共388份。研究結果顯示:(1)女性、對社會治安和地下道治安印象較差者,其對地下通道的安全感較低;(2)地下通道之寬度越寬、牆面為反光材質、裝飾面積比較高、通道筆直或無明顯高低差、可清楚看見出口樓梯、照度較高、照明偏暖色光等7項特質,對使用者之安全知覺均具有顯著正向影響力;(3)地下通道在有音樂播放的情境下,可有效增加使用者穿越人行地下通道時的安全感。以上研究結果可提供設計及管理單位新建或改善人行地下道安全感之參考。

英文摘要

Many pedestrians are deterred from using pedestrian underpasses because they are located below the surface and give the impression that most of them are dark, enclosed, indefinite and insecure etc. This research purpose is to explore the spatial environmental characteristics of pedestrian underpass which affect the user's safety perception. Pedestrian underpass space can be divided into 3 sections: the ground structure, the entrance stair and the underpass. This study focuses on the “underpass” section, and we take 34 photographs to evaluate the participants' safety perception affected by the environmental characteristics of the underpass. In addition, we also discuss the effort made by the background music to enhance the sense of security when users walk through the underpass in this study. The majority of subjects are college students. The numbers of effective samples for the “spatial environment” and “background music” are 388 and 433 respectively. The research results show: (1) Females and people who have a worse impression on social security and underpass safety have a lower sense of security in the underpass. (2)The 7 characteristics of underpass, which have a significant positive impact on the user's safety perception, include the passage width, reflective wall material, decorative area, straight or implicit height difference passage, visible exit stairway, illumination level, and warm color illumination. (3) Playing background music in the underpass can effectively increase the user's sense of security. The research findings above can provide reference information for the design and management units to build or improve pedestrian underpass security.
